Module 6.15 Scent work games

Teaching your puppy easy scent work is a great way to engage their natural instincts and build confidence. Start by letting your puppy see the food as you place it on the floor, saying “find it” as you do so, and allow them to eat it straight away. Once they begin to understand the game, you can make it slightly more challenging by placing the food just out of sight, encouraging them to use their nose rather than their eyes. As your puppy improves, you can gradually make the hides a little harder, helping them shift from relying on their visual system to developing their scenting skills.
