Module 6.10 Luring

Luring is a simple, effective way to teach your puppy new behaviors by using something they love—usually a treat—to guide their movement. By holding the treat close to your puppy’s nose and moving it slowly, you can lead them into positions like sit, down, or into a heel without any pressure or confusion. This technique helps your puppy clearly understand what you’re asking by letting them follow the reward into the correct action. As your puppy begins to get the hang of it, you’ll start pairing the movement with a verbal cue and gradually phase out the lure, so they respond reliably without needing to see the treat.
